Our now traditional excursion to the Siemens Development Centre took place once again. The development department of the Siemens Corporate Technology Development Centre is a progressive development division of Siemens with worldwide coverage, which works on software and hardware projects for other Siemens divisions and external customers.
As part of the excursion, students visited development facilities for Siemens Motion Control, Communication cards for Sinamics, HW design for Siemens S7, the integration and testing lab for PROFINET and Motion Control, the integration and testing lab for process automation, the development department for railway transport, and others. During the numerous discussions, the students learned how the development process works in the workplace with an international team , which is often spread throughout the world, as well as what is involved in the commercial development of electronic devices and how such projects vary from student term papers or class projects.
